Welcome to the Tribal portal. The Tribal Council is made up of seven members of the Delaware Tribe of Indians who are registered voters. They are elected and serve staggered terms of four years. Chief; Assistant Chief and two members being elected in one election. The other three members are voted in during the next election. Positions of Secretary and Treasurer are appointed by the Tribal Council. Each term is four years with no limit to how many terms anyone can hold.
Tribal Council meetings are currently held on the fourth Wednesday of every month starting at 6:00 pm in Forsythe Hall. If at anytime you would like to present to Tribal Council that will take more than three minutes, you must ask for a spot on the agenda by contacting the Chief’s Executive Assistant by calling 918-914-3142 or text.
If you have not attended a Tribal Council meeting, we encourage you to do so. Agendas are posted on the Tribal Facebook page (Delaware Tribe of Indians) so you can see what business will be conducted. You will have access to the agenda and resolutions for viewing during the meeting. A resolution is presented to Tribal Council so it can be reviewed and approved. For example, such as an Enrollment resolution approves people for membership or if a department wants to apply for a grant.
